I ordered the New HD yesterday, 3/24/08, and today, for $85, a local place put it in in front of me within 30 min!

Then I started up from SuperDuper! Clone, formatted the Internal, and Cloned my Clone Back Up back onto the New Internal -- it went like BUTTER - 45-60 minutes!

LUCKILY -- this was not my own Powerbook, and this "DRESS REHEARSAL" was PRICELESS!!! With the RIGHT TOOLS, and this GUIDE

I could have probably done it, but I for $64-85 I didn't want to chance it...

Since this Powerbook was past its Apple Care Warranty, it would have been $350 Flat Rate + Tax, and Apple would have exchanged the HD "like for like" = 80GB HD with 80GB HD

Tekserve wanted $160 + Tax for putting in my own HD, and I would have had to go to Manhattan and come back WHENEVER later that day -- MAYBE! $325(?) for Installing their HD/120-160 GB?!

$17 difference = more for LOCALLY, just blocks away from me made more sense, in addition to BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP:) with this place where I did it!
